GigsSaturday:

Ballyhugh Arts and Cultural Centre
Cathal , Cormac , Sean and Mickey On Saturday night April 19th 2008 Mickey and his three brothers got together to play and sing for the 10th anniversary of the Ballyhugh Arts and Cultural Centre near Ballyconnell in County Cavan. This was the first time the brothers had appeared on stage together for over thirty years and it proved to be a highly unconventional if highly entertaining reunion. They decided to recreate the days of their youth when their home was a regular meeting place for musicians from all over the North and during a set lasting well over an hour they revisited some of the tunes and the songs they remembered from those days. Cormac, the eldest brother, acted as the Father of Ceremonies and sang a few of his own songs as did Mickey. Sean performed a number of popular Northern ballads while Cathal showcased his formidable skills on concert flute and tin whistle. The occasion was judged to be an outstanding success by all involved and it was unanimously agreed that another brotherly reunion should be arranged in the not too distant future.
